Thanksgiving Poem

Thanksgiving can be a hard holiday for some

who have lost loved ones who made the day fun

or must now decide which in-laws get the day

with four divorced parents living so far away

This wonderful day of gratitude and care

can be difficult for those who feel unwanted there

or who celebrate alone feeling neglected and lonely

Thanksgiving becomes just a day of if-only

So as you stuff turkey and slice into pies

laugh out loud and smile and breathe contented sighs

feeling thankful for the family and friends who come
