Speaking at National Youth Conference!

I just had the incredible honor and amazing experience of being the "Theopoet in Residence" at the Church of the Brethren National Youth Conference this past week. There, I was able to write and present theopoetic reflections based on worship service themes for a group of hundreds of high school-age youth from across the country. I would describe it as quite possibly the neatest way I have been able to use my theopoetics knowledge and degree so far. I drew on metaphor and symbolism, read poetry, and emphasized imagination and wonder. I worked alongside the worship coordinating team who were fantastic, and I was able to see just how much behind-the-scenes work goes into preparing and organizing a large-scale conference.
